Who is izanami darker than black

This show is turning out to be much deeper than I thought it would be after the first season. I just need to add something: Technically, isn't Yin, as a person, separate from Izanami? They do appear as 2 separate beings on several occasions, and have much different personalities.

So, perhaps Hei doesn't have to kill Yin, only Izanami? Seems reasonable to me. Don't know why else they would appear in different forms all the time. In any case, we can be pretty sure that Yin's wish has something to do with her and Hei being together i.

I don't see why it would be anything other than that. It is a wish after all. The only question is how it will be granted. Your post contained almost all of the information I needed after having watched everything from darker than black. Thank you. Keshite, riraitoshite! Kudara nai chougensou wasureranu sonzaikan o! Kishikaisei, riraitoshite! Imi no nai souzou mo kimi o nasu gendouryoku! Strictly speaking, the Mythology also said that Izanagi would go to the underworld to take back Izanami.

On the way back, warned not to look at Izanagi on the way up, which he inadvertently do. Naughty boy. And what did he sees? Worms on her face. And what does he do?

He panicked like a chicken and then left her. And more retarded shit came after that. I think the director didn't said that he is following the mythology because he just don't want to follow every detail precisely because of the retarded parts in it. Which is to say, Darker than Black is just loosely based on the 'best' parts of that Mythology.

In which case, I am bound to agree that Hei Izanagi would kill Kagitsuchi Yin boy , because well, it's cooler that way. Him saving the world again. And being cool again without any hint of effort on his emo face. All I know is that Gemini sucked, and I don't remember anything that happened in it because of this fact. I'm not very knowledgeable of the Izanami and Izanagi mythology but I came up with some ideas.

I think that Suou is Izanagi. In Ep. Im assuming around this time Suou is still dead and bodiless but her spirit is visiting Yin. Near the end of the episode they seem to agree to look towards Hei for the "answer.

Im assuming Suou's spirit directed Yin's spirit to Shion. This is where it all unfolds, the copying of the bodies in Shion's fathers lab, the copying of the planet. Why Suou is the first experiment. Why Suou struggles with loving Hei and hating Hei. She says she knows why she hates Hei, she doesn't know why she "loves" him. I don't remember if she said love. When Suou finally fades you see that white Yin, or is that Izanagi?

I didn't think that much yet. I don't think she is fully because the magican guy tricked Hei into the Saturn Rings device that sapped his power and gave it into Suou's meteor shard. They explain in one of the episodes that its possible to do that with that saturn device.

Hei's powers are special too because they aren't his powers, they're Pai's. Take notice they ALWAYS show that sailor moon sequence when she uses her contractor ability, the rifle uses the meteor shard as the medium to materialize.

I don't think she ever glows blue either. It was Suou's dream of that happy place. You know, that happy place where its peaceful and everything is normal, like that copy earth? I have other ideas too that have no basis but I'll list it anyway..

The wife of the Man lady had to bake a cake because He said she always did that kind of stuff before she left. I think thats what I wanted to say.

I've read some posts and looking for the same type of epiphany realizations like I immediately had after watching Ep. When you see the last episode you look back and you see how every piece was laid in front of you. I loved that feeling! OP Analysis Seems to make sense of the stuff that came from the stuff and formed the stuff to stop the stuff from stuffing the world Good read.

Here's hoping people still read these boards. I just recently finished the anime, Gaiden included, and I would like to offer an alternative. First of all, I believe Shion to be Izanagi. Now, a few points already acknowledged. The orange "moon" isn't a moon at all, it is the second Earth created by Shion, with the help of Izanami and his sacrifice.

Suo, July and everyone encountered in S2, at least, can be assumed to be on that Earth and give. He lost his power, those he loved, and if we exclude Yin's research, he is forced to work for others without being motivated. In the end, he must also kill Yin, the woman he loves.

Why should he still be around? I think he dies together with Yin. In my opinion, copies of Yin and Hei were created with same powers.

Basically, in the end, we witness the birth of a new syndicate, with "old" faces. So, for me, it makes sense there are clones of Hei and Yin. Mao also has a new body. Another explanation could be that during the OVA, Yin told Hei that one way they could be together is when they become one, while she hugged him in the white form, which could be referred to his particle manipulation ability which could be used to fuse them together just like Bai and Hei did.

Regarding Izanagi's words where he said in last OVA's last 10 minutes that he would grant Yin a wish when Hei arrives, I suspect it could be that he makes Yin's body human so that one day Hei could reverse the process of the above-mentioned fusion and bring Yin to her now converted Human body,. Hei didn't kill Yin, he used his power to separate Izanami and Yin. In the picture where Hei is carrying Yin, she just faints.

He chose to save Yin instead of killing her, so the person who we saw in the "coffin" is who will bring destruction according to the documents written by Amber. If he didn't kill Yin, then he's hiding her somewhere. Izanami is an anti-contractor weapon with Yin inside, and Izanagi is never truly revealed except for that little extra bit at the end of the episode. We do not know for sure if Hei did or did not kill Yin, and if that boy is in fact, Izanagi, I'm assuming Hei will come back, or the new "Syndicate" will try and kill him.

He's probably and Anti-contractor weapon as well from what I see. But anyway, I think Hei killed Yin, and if he didn't, she's probably more human than a doll now, since she changed a lot in the OVA's. Sign up to join this community. Well, Hei is alive, that's for certain; however, what happens to Yin isn't entirely mentioned. Improve this answer. Memor-X Memor-X Hei is alive, and so is Bai, who is fused with him. Now there are two explanations: The first and the best one is Hei was not able to use his powers as Bai fused with the core, and not only that but at the end, the core is destroyed, bringing Bai back to Hei.

She is then seen murdering several Contractors, finishing off her final opponent by, akin to Michiru, presumably turning his own ability, pyrokinesis, against him, burning him alive. She hums a tune afterwards and walks forward watching the moon as specters gather around her, saying that, "it won't be long now. The agreement that was teased in Gaiden involves Shion's new Earth to be inhabited by the souls Izanami has collected.

Yin's or possibly Izanami's wish is never revealed to the viewers. Suoh and July's souls are then absorbed and sent to the cloned Earth. Hei shows up as Suo begins to fade away to the next world and comforts her till she passes. Yin then speaks with Hei, telling him that it is not too late and that he can still kill her. Hei smiles and touches Yin's shoulder. It is unknown what he did, but he has his powers back due to Izanami shattering the meteor core that held them and tied them to Suoh.

At the end of the episode, the being born from both Izanami and Izanagi is seen in a coffin on a bed of flowers somewhere in the gate. Mr Smith and personnel surround the coffin and as the agent looks inside, the being absorbs their souls and arises. While Misaki talks about the aftermath of everything, in a flashback, Hei is seen walking away, carrying Yin's body. From this point on their whereabouts are unknown and it is unclear if Yin survived or not.
